Frequently Asked Questions:

Will my participation remain confidential? Only members of the study team will have access to your contact information and this will be kept in a secure location. Any information published from this study will be de-identified; your name will not be linked to your responses. If you participate in the group discussions, there will be other community members there; however, we will ask everyone in the meeting to please respect everyone’s privacy.

How do you plan to use my data? We will analyze the survey and group conversations to better understand trust in crisis mental health services. We plan to publish peer-reviewed papers using these data, but the findings will also help us to develop a measure of trust in crisis mental health services. Our conversations with you will help us identify which questions we should include in our survey of trust and what types of services we should focus on.

How long will my participation take? The survey should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete. Focus groups will last for 1.5 hours and will be conducted over Zoom.

Can you help me find crisis services? We are not able to provide help in navigating services. However, there are a number of resources, including here: https://therightresponse.co/. You might also consider calling 988, as staff of the 988 crisis line are better positioned to help navigate resources in your local community.
